Arizona Parents Store Son's Baby Teeth for Stem Cells


When Luis Rodriguez was told that his son needed to have his four front teeth removed to make room for his adult teeth, Luis took the opportunity to bank his son’s baby teeth. Using the company StemSave, the Rodriguez family harvested stem cells from his son’s teeth as a precaution against possible illnesses such as Leukemia, Parkinson’s, etc. Stem cells have been used to treat and sometimes cure serious medical conditions.

4 Year Old Dies From Severe Tooth Decay

Due to severe tooth decay, a four-year-old girl passed away, and her parents have been sentenced to prison for neglect. After the child died following a routine procedure to extract decayed teeth, the parents were charged with neglecting her health. The mother claimed that despite noticing the extreme decay surrounding her daughter’s teeth, she did not take her to the dentist because her daughter said she was not in pain and did not want to visit the dentist.

Teenage Japanese Girls Start New Trend

Teenage girls in Japan have started a hot new trend that promotes deformed teeth. Girls are visiting dental salons to have their teeth lengthened to create a “snaggletooth”. This new cosmetic procedure is designed to increase their attractiveness and make them more accessible. While Americans spend thousands to straighten their teeth, Japanese girls are spending thousands of dollars to actually create more deformed smiles.

Improve Your Heart Health By Improving Your Dental Health

A recent study found that improving the health of your gums could also improve the health of your heart. The study, which examined 420 adults, found that over the course of three years, as the subjects’ gum health improved, the plaque buildup in their arteries slowed. Atherosclerosis, the narrowing of arteries due to plaque buildup, is a serious heart condition that can lead to stroke, heart disease and death.
