A team at NYU’s College of Dentistry developed a new dental procedure that reduces the amount of time patients must wear braces. The procedure utilizes a process called micro-osteoperforation in which dentists drill small holes into patients’ gums to create inflammation. Candy Lovers Rejoice, New Candy Fights Cavities

It’s nothing new to hear that candy is harmful to teeth, but now this age-old fact may not be quite so accurate. Researchers of the Berlin-based biotech company Organobalance have created a new sugar-free candy that actually helps reduce cavities. The candy introduces the healthy Lactobacillus paracasei bacteria to the mouth, which binds to harmful mutans streptococci bacteria, potentially reducing cavities. Polar Bear Cub Gets Much Needed Dental Care

After a polar bear cub was discovered abandoned and extremely thin in Manitoba, Canada, she was transported to Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg where she underwent a dental procedure to extract two broken and infected baby teeth and one adult tooth.
